at Department of Human Services in Park Forest, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to serve as highly responsible staff assistant, performing a variety of complex responsibilities related to the monitoring of facility compliance with policies, procedures, directives, practices and standards of the Illinois Department of Human Services ( IDHS ), Health Care Financing Administration ( HCFA ), the Accreditation Council on Services for People with Disabilities ( ACD ) and other accrediting organizations, Illinois Department of Public Health ( IDPH ) and Ludeman Developmental Center. Verifies quality of care in delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities at Ludeman Developmental Center. Essential Functions Serves as highly responsible staff assistant, responsible for a variety of complex responsibilities related to the monitoring of facility compliance with policies, procedures, directives, practices, and standards of Department of Human Services ( DHS ), Health Care Financing Administration ( HCFA ), Accreditation Council on Services for People with Disabilities ( ACD ) and other accrediting organizations, IDPH and Ludeman Developmental Center. Evaluates through observation and review of written material the Inter-disciplinary Team process to verify compliance with relevant standards and policies. Monitors through observation, interview and review of written reports, implementation and effectiveness of individual habilitation plans including active treatment and skill training programs comparing desired outcome to actual outcome. Conducts quality enhancement activities and comprehensive audits of facility compliance with standards relating to areas such as abuse/neglect reporting, home environmental conditions, individual rights and meal service. Reviews and monitors information of facility plans of correction which address deficiencies relating to individual habilitation and results from surveys conducted by the department, the Accreditation Council and other surveying entities. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration. Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of professional experience conducting reviews to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, directives, practices and standards for a private of public organization. Two (2) years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail while multi-tasking multiple projects. Two (2) years of professional experience communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders in oral and written form. Two (2) years of professional experience working in a public or private organization maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism. Two (2) years of professional experience managing projects for a public or private organization. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties. Requires basic proficiency in programs such as Microsoft, Outlook and Excel to be able to prepare reports. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
