Administrative Assistant LCROE Foundation
ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
The Lake County Regional Office of Education Foundation's mission is to help the public school students of Lake County, IL arrive at school every day ready to learn. The LCROEF is a local program partner for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five. The program partners with local affiliates to bring the program to communities around the world.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of the Foundation by performing a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks. This role is vital in helping the organization run efficiently and effectively, ensuring the team can focus on delivering impactful programs and service. The position is part time, hybrid.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general administrative and clerical support to staff and leadership Answer and direct phone calls and respond to inquiries via email or mail Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, and minutes Assist with donor management and database entry Ensure scholarship or grant recipients comply with Foundation requirements Support event planning and logistics Order office supplies and manage inventory Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries Assist with social media posts and community communications Provide occasional support for fundraising and outreach activities Maintain confidentiality and uphold the Foundation's mission and values
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred) Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Minimum 2 years of administrative or office support experience Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace Experience with donor databases Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to the mission of the Foundation and sensitivity to diverse communities
