Compass Education Center Secretary (Compass Education Center) Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Compass Education Center Director, to provide a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Director; communicating information on behalf of the Director to school district employees, parents, other school districts, public agencies, etc.Essential Job Functions :
Respond to communications and problem solve on appropriate actions. Topics include ordering, grades, credits, transcripts, building equipment and CEC programs. Arrange meetings as directed by the Director. Reorder student materials and classroom items. Manage workflow while ensuring that deadlines are accomplished and correct. Communicate with the Director in a timely manner, with knowledge of priority status. Maintain schedules for the Director and all administrative staff. Compile accurate program information for the monthly Board of Education agenda, as requested. Process payroll information for accurate Service and Payroll Reports. Perform clerical duties as assigned. Screens and directs Director's incoming phone calls, and maintains a reliable log of all calls received. Processes regular and periodic confidential documentation. Generate memos, emails and reports when necessary. Maintain equipment checkout records, troubleshoot technology and equipment issues before reporting issues to IT. Maintain and update program information for public access, such as brochures, web pages and social media. Maintain program budget and accounts. Student fee collection. Assist with sending and requesting transcripts. Additional support provided to the Assistant Director and Guidance Counselor. Provide support for the APEX and Edmentum online programs used by the CEC, PMHS and SHS. Assist with other duties as assigned. Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine and fax machines, and telephone. Travel Requirements Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay Rate 16.80 per hour. Work Schedule 8 hours per day. 210 days per year. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Evidence of service-minded work ethic. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. History of punctuality and dependability in the work setting. Extensive experience with Skyward, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word (including Mail Merge) and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Perry Township Secondary Procedures/Programs/Curriculum. Job experience work in clerical/office, preferably secondary. Ability to work within various project deadlines and multi-task accordingly. Familiarity with business office procedures. Effective and professional oral and written communication. Ability to interact in a professional and positive manner with Central Office Administrators, Building Principals and staff and all stakeholders. Work collaboratively with individuals and groups. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Seldom = Less than 25% Occasional = 26 to 50% Often = 51 to 75% Very Frequent = Greater than 75% Physical Requirement Percentage of Time Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Very Frequent Ability to lift 25 pounds. Seldom Ability to carry 25 pounds. Seldom Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. Very Frequent Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. Very Frequent Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. Very Frequent Ability to operate job-related equipment. Very Frequent Ability to reach in all directions. Seldom License/ Registration/ Certification N/A Education High School Diploma or GED. Experience Previous experience is preferred.FLSA Status:
