Operational Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Provides operational support to improve efficiency, workflow and capacity management of all departments as well as managerial and director level associates. Prepares correspondence in final form. Gathers data and prepares a variety of recurring reports for management. Efficiently schedules patient appointments, maintains and updates records, tracks billing and assists with denials. Mentors and assists with training of other staff. Works with a therapist to ensure timely pre-authorization for treatment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

: Completion of high school level course work. Two to three years of related office experience preferred. The organizational skill to maintain orderly and efficient office systems for a department or unit and to schedule and coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously. Excellent verbal and communication skills necessary to deal with visitors and Hospital personnel at all levels. Analytical ability to evaluate and interpret data for the preparation of reports. Clerical ability to operate a variety of office machines. Exhibits proficiency with Microsoft Office (ie. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Exhibits proficiency in typing. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
