About Pendleton Correctional Facility:
Pendleton Correctional Facility is a maximum‑security facility located in Pendleton, Indiana, housing incarcerated adult males. The facility also operates an adjacent minimum‑security dormitory. While the campus has historic origins, it includes updated housing units and medical areas that support modern correctional operations. Incarcerated individuals can participate in educational programs, GED preparation, and literacy courses. Additional opportunities include substance abuse treatment, parenting courses, and vocational training in auto body repair and printing. Staff emphasize safety, accountability, and skill development. Role Overview:
 As a Clerical Assistant at the Pendleton Correctional Facility, you will be responsible for all duties and responsibilities associated with the facility packet room, record keeping, electronic filing, document archiving, and classification notifications. Individuals with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks are highly sought after and will be the most successful in this position. The position will work closely with other support staff in completing facility-required goals and tasks and will be an integral member of a successful and efficient team.
Salary Statement:
 The salary for this position traditionally starts at $27,638.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the
Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows: Supports the daily operations of an organization by performing general office tasksGreets visitors and directs them to the appropriate person according to their needs.

Answers telephones and gives information to callers, take messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.

Opens, sorts, and routes incoming mail and correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.

Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers. Accurately maintains and organizes office files.

Delivers messages and run errands.

Maintains inventory, orders, and distributes supplies.

Completes tasks or projects assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.

Success:
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

Working knowledge of general office functions and clerical procedures.

Basic computer skills.

Active listening skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Attention to detail and proofreading skills.

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to work with sensitive documents and information, and be privy to sensitive agency information without divulging information to internal or external parties.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to provide effective and professional customer service to internal and external parties.

A degree is not required. However, a High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) is required. Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
