Short-Term Independent Contractor Assignment -
Office Coordinator Location:
Schererville, IN Overview Homewatch CareGivers of Northwest Indiana is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented professional to provide short-term administrative and coordination support. This contractor role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping operations organized, communicating clearly, and supporting a mission-driven care team. In this assignment, you'll contribute to the day-to-day efficiency of a home care office through scheduling coordination, communication support, and organized documentation—helping ensure a responsive and client-centered experience. What You'll Do Assist with caregiver schedule coordination by updating availability, flagging gaps, and preparing information for team review Support routine, non-clinical communication with clients, caregivers, and staff regarding schedules, documentation, and general updates Organize and maintain electronic and paper records in line with office procedures Conduct friendly follow-up calls using approved guidance and document outcomes Track task progress, reminders, and follow-ups to support team prioritization Prepare simple reports, summaries, and internal communications Assist with general office organization, document preparation, and administrative tasks Provide support for onboarding and intake coordination activities Contribute to daily operations and special projects as needed Why This Opportunity Gain hands-on experience with scheduling tools, office systems, and client support workflows. Potential consideration for future opportunities if business needs align (not guaranteed) Qualifications Experience in administrative support, customer service, scheduling, or healthcare office settings preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Proficient in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Word, Teams, SharePoint) Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality Comfortable working independently while meeting agreed timelines and expectations Work Environment & Schedule Work is primarily performed in an office setting during mutually agreed-upon business hours, based on project needs, availability, and contract terms.
