Position Summary The Unit Clerk serves as a vital member of the treatment team, providing administrative and clerical support to medical and nursing staff in both acute and residential settings. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating services, and supporting patient care activities. Shift Full-time evening shift 3-11p; Tuesday-Saturday. Eligible for benefits & shift differentials. Key Responsibilities Support nurses with laboratory, imaging, and medical orders. Answer and screen calls for nursing staff. File, scan, and maintain patient documentation within the electronic health record system. Coordinate off-site appointments, transportation needs, and interpreter services. Order and stock medical, office, and unit supplies. Create and maintain patient admission and discharge documentation. Obtain medical records from outside facilities. Monitor and document refrigerator temperatures and other required logs. Submit maintenance work orders and assist with unit organization. Update patient census, bed availability, and risk status reports. Assist with discharge coordination and follow-up documentation. Support nursing staff with patient photographs, vital signs, and EKGs as delegated. Attend required meetings, trainings, and annual in-service education. This position may assist with direct patient care responsibilities for a portion of assigned duties as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited institution. Valid driver's license and current auto insurance. Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. One to three months of related experience or training in a hospital, healthcare, or care facility environment. Preferred Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification. Experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
