Job Description

Summary:
Provides secretarial support to the School Based Health Center team. Responsible for the clerical operations of the health center for gathering data, preparing various logs, audits, weekly and monthly reports. Also coordinates the filing of claims for 3rd party reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform clerical duties.
  • Maintains professional and cooperative relationship
  • Answers the telephone and greets all students and visitors courteously and provides needed information or assistance.
  • Maintains a filing system necessary for proper organization of office, including patient charts, ledgers, and office operations to prevent disruption of office activities and delay in patient care delivery.
  • Anticipates and responds to the needs of patients, visitors, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community.
  • Prepares various logs, audits, weekly and monthly reports, assembles data and complies or tabulates data into final format to be submitted to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintains an appropriate supply of office supplies and demonstrates efficient and careful use of materials.
  • Prepares/maintains health center's statistics.
  • Displays open mindedness and objectivity in relations with patients, visitors, physicians, employees, volunteers and community. Treats all persons justly acting without self centeredness, prejudice, and favoritism.

Health Southwestern Louisiana Ochsner Requirements:
A. Education/Skills High School Diploma or equivalent required B. Experience One year of office or clerical experience. Knowledge of computers and general office equipment. Good organizational skills. Must be able to communicate well, have excellent interpersonal skills, work with many interruptions. C.
