Summary:
The Administrative Assistant is pivotal in providing secretarial and administrative support to the Principal; communicating information to students, parents, staff, and/or school campuses; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements and supporting a broad array of services provided to student, parents, instructional and support employees. This position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and discretion
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedules, organizes and coordinates events, staff meetings and other meetings, interviews, travel, field trips, etc., and maintains calendars Prepares communications, such as memos, emails and other correspondence Processes invoices, purchase orders, check requests, credit card reconciliations, etc. Maintains a variety of computerized and manual records, files and department databases Creates and maintains filing systems, both electronic and physical Gives out routine program information, answers inquiries and furnishes information requiring knowledge of basic school mission, charter, procedures and policies and works closely with other staff as assigned Keeps necessary forms and applications stocked and available Orients new site personnel regarding appropriate school and community practices Writes, edits and prepares a wide variety of documents from letters to reports to documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information in accordance with school, state, federal and/or administrative requirements Assists in other areas at times of reduced staff or peak periods including in the areas of campus or administrative operations, maintenance, classroom assistance, and health assistance. Maintains confidentiality and compliance with all school policies and procedures Timely, in person, and regular attendance. The International School of Louisiana retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Qualifications, Education and Work Experience:
Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), Associate degree in business administration preferred. Minimum 1-year experience working in an administrative role. Work experience in a school system preferred but not required. Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly. Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations. Ability to work efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision in a dynamic, interrupt-driven environment. Possesses strong organizational skills, excellent verbal, written and analytical skills. Ability and willingness to represent the school in a professional and courteous manner to parents, students, and visitors. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Ability to work collectively with the administrative team. Must have knowledge of basic office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, at a level generally acquired by 3+ years related experience. Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, Excel, Word and customized databases,
Google Suite:
Documents, Slides, Sheets and Google Meets Ability to interpret and apply School regulations and policies equitably with faculty, staff, parents and students. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Bilingual or multilingual Spanish/ French preferred.
