Job Description
The ideal candidate:

Support the planning and smooth run of religious services and community events.This often includes:
Proactively working with lay leaders and staff to plot out timelines and make sure everyone has the resources they need. Running registration for classes, religious services, and more. Managing events day-of to help things go as planned, and problem solving when they don't. Help b'nei (bar/bat/b) mitzvah services and receptions feel joyous, meaningful, and well-organized for students and their families.This often includes:
Supportively liaising with families to ensure all the little details are taken care of. Communicating with caterers, vendors, and volunteers. Creating and updating planning documents to guide families in their preparation. Manage logistics for High Holiday services, putting lots of pieces together to facilitate a meaningful set of events for hundreds of attendees.This often includes:
Facilitating supply deliveries and the transport of items between several locations. Organizing volunteers. Managing registration and check-in. Efficiently and accurately carry out essential administrative work that keeps the temple running.This often includes:
Updating the web calendar. Maintaining accounts in the member database and processing transactions. Managing a facilities maintenance schedule and ensuring supplies are in stock.Required Qualifications:
At least two years' work experience in event planning, nonprofit administration, religious programming, or a related field. Proven track record of collaborative, successful problem solving in a professional setting. Proven track record of successful project management and adherence to deadlines. Ability to interact respectfully with an array of personality types and age groups, including children. Comfort using computers for creating spreadsheets, word processing, file sharing, and video conferencing; ability to use (or learn to use) the Microsoft products OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Readiness to learn about Jewish holidays, rituals, and culture, if not already familiar. Readiness to learn and adhere to best practices for communal safety and security. Proficiency in verbal and written English.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with CRMs or membership databases. Experience with email marketing and social media (Facebook and Instagram). Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles. College degree (Associate's or above).Schedule:
The position's schedule consists of: 25 fixed hours per week during weekday business hours, on a schedule to be arranged with the Director of Administration. 5 to 10 floating hours per week, sometimes on evenings or weekends as required by the temple calendar, and assigned ahead of time. Summers off from the end of June until late August. A hybrid in-person/remote schedule may be arranged with parameters mutually agreed on with the Director of Administration.
