The principal function of this service is to provide medical administrative, clerical, and health care automation support to the JPC's Department of Consultative Services. The Health Services Administration Assistants shall ensure day-to-day administrative requirements are completed appropriately and timely. The Health Services Administration Assistants will also ensure timely and accurate submissions into the Joint Pathology Information Management System (JPIMS) of all cases received from contributors worldwide as they are received from staff pathologists or accessioning department. The Health Services Administration Assistants shall perform work consisting of varied duties requiring different and unrelated administrative processes and methods. Work is performed under general administration. The Health Services Administration Assistants and Government collectively develop deadlines, projects, and work assignments. The Health Services Administration Assistants shall be responsible for planning and carrying out assignments and using developed expertise for resolving most of the conflicts that arise. Additional responsibilities include coordinating work and determining approach to be taken with others as necessary in establishing objectives. The Health Services Administration Assistants informs the Government of progress on current matters and any controversial situations that may occur. The Health Services Administration Assistants will also be responsible for assisting the departments in maintaining accountability of clinical case materials. Answering inquiries from clinical contributors and staff members. Participating in investigation of Non-Conformance Reports and Root Cause Analysis. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in a healthcare, medical office, laboratory, hospital, or pathology environment. Experience performing data entry and maintaining electronic records/databases with a high degree of accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and healthcare information management systems. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clinical staff, contributors, and leadership. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to accurately track and maintain accountability of clinical case materials. Ability to work independently under general supervision and resolve routine administrative issues. Preferred Qualifications (Optional) Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Administration, or related field. Experience working within a pathology, laboratory, or military medical environment. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation processes. Experience using JPIMS or similar healthcare information management systems.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
