June 10, 2026 or until a suitable candidate is found The Kittery School District is currently seeking a full-time secretary at Shapleigh School in Kittery, Maine. This position is Monday-Friday from 7AM to 3PM. Contracted for 195 - 205 days. The ideal candidate will possess: excellent customer service skills with both young people and adults strong written and verbal communication skills outstanding computer skills strong organizational skills strong interpersonal skills enjoyment in/respect for working with a range of students from grade four-through eight (and lots of patience) a great a sense of humor the ability to multitask in a busy office environment an understanding that confidentiality and discretion in a school setting is critical Assists with maintaining building administrators calendar Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring student safety at all times; including controlling access to the building when school is in session Greeting visitors, students, and staff with courtesy managing student attendance data with accuracy contacting families over the phone Managing the scheduling substitute teachers assisting the principal and assistant principal with assigned duties Candidates must submit to a Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education
