Job Description
Summary We are seeking a reliable and organized individual to provide substitute secretarial support across Lake Shore Public Schools. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various administrative tasks in a fast-paced educational environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities within the school district while maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere. Responsibilities Perform general clerical duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing correspondence. Assist in the preparation and distribution of school-related materials, such as newsletters, announcements, and reports. Maintain student and staff records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district policies. Support school administrative staff with scheduling, organizing meetings, and coordinating events. Manage office supplies inventory, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability. Assist with student registration and enrollment processes as needed. Provide support to teachers and staff in daily operations, including copying, filing, and data entry. Respond to inquiries from parents, students, and staff with professionalism and courtesy. Adapt to various school environments and administrative systems as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in office administration or related field is a plus. Previous experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office software. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward working with students, staff, and the community. Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to different school environments and administrative needs.
