Job Description

Posting Details Position Information Position Title Office Assistant II Job Responsibilities This is a support position for the Business and Economics Department. Responsibilities include the performance of secretarial and administrative duties; assisting the department chair in the preparation and management of the annual budget, letters, memoranda, meeting minutes, evaluations, personnel recommendations, and other routine documents; assisting the chair and faculty in the preparation and processing of internal documents for departmental purchases, travel requisitions, and expense reimbursement; maintaining departmental files; assisting with the preparation of course schedules; maintaining applicant and admission files for graduate programs; updating department websites and social media; assisting with the completion of internal and external reports; assisting in training, assigning, and supervising University student employees; and other duties as assigned. Assisting with occasional weekend and evening events may also be required. Required Qualifications Required qualifications include a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired; excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-direction. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented. Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications include previous secretarial/office experience, proficiency with website editing and social media tools, coursework beyond high school.
