Glass, Inc is a busy and continually growing family business in Banner Elk, NC. Our goal is to provide the best custom glass experience for our clients. We are seeking an individual to assist in multiple areas of our business(s) and our personal life. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with jumping from task to task, which could include anything from general office work, helping to manage rental properties or small renovation projections, to doing after school pick up/homework time/afternoon events for owner's elementary/middle school aged children. This candidate would work directly with the owner on a daily basis to assistant in managing and accomplishing daily must-do's and helping to lend a hand where needed. Job Description:
As an Office/Family Personal Assistant, you will provide crucial support to owner both in work and personal life, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflow within the office and day to day handling of matters on all levels.
Office Responsibilities:
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and exceptional customer service. Greet and assist visitors, clients, and employees, maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Prepare and edit documents, reports, and proposals ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Maintain accurate records and databases, updating information as required. Assist with inventory management, ordering office supplies, and ensuring proper stock levels. Provide general administrative support, such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry. Uphold strict confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Family/Personal Assistant Responsibilities:
Running errands, post office, bank, picking up items at stores around town, etc. Picking up kids from school and helping them with homework or afternoon events. Helping to coordinate details around on-going small renovations projects for our rental property business. Dealing with current renter's requests or needs. Managing subcontractors or vendors for various properties/projects.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an assistant or in a similar role. Experience and/or understanding that family businesses can have different needs each day and most days your job will be primarily the same but some days your job tasks can switch unexpectedly to help meet and manage business/family needs. Past childcare experience a must, ok with dogs - we are a family business and have kids and dogs always around. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work. Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with office equipment. Apple iPad, MacBook experience is a plus. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor and a customer-oriented approach. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or relevant training is a plus. Clean driving and criminal record.
Working Hours:
This position is for full time from 8:30-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. We would be willing to consider part time hours for the right candidate and assuming those part hours worked for both our needs and yours. No nights, no weekends.
