Job Description

Job Summary Admin Assistant-Spartanburg, Eligibility Specialist is a long-term contract opportunity supporting public sector program eligibility and application determination in an onsite, structured office environment in Spartanburg, SC. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented administrative professional who enjoys reviewing information, solving problems, following clear processes, and contributing to meaningful public service work. In this position, you will help determine eligibility for state programs by reviewing documentation, verifying information, and maintaining accurate records. You will receive paid classroom-style training and work in a professional environment with clear expectations, supportive guidance, and the potential for permanent placement. This is a strong opportunity to build valuable government and public sector experience while developing administrative, compliance, and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, review, and evaluate applicant documentation for eligibility determination.
  • Analyze information and verify benefit eligibility using established policies and procedures.
  • Work across multiple computer systems and screens to complete accurate case reviews.
  • Communicate with applicants by phone when clarification or additional information is needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Work independently in a cubicle-style office setting after completing training. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay:
    $15 per hour.
  • Salary range provided: $33,000 per year.
  • Schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
  • Assignment type: Long-term contract with potential for permanent placement.
  • Work arrangement: Onsite in Spartanburg, SC.
  • Training:
    Paid classroom-style training for 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Time off: No approved time off during the training period.
