Description:
This position will schedule and manage patient appointments and switchboard duties in the Medical Records unit. These duties will include setting up new patient and update current patient information in the EMR, booking patient transportation, data entry, sorting and delivering of incoming and outgoing mail, relaying messages as necessary, calling patients assigned to Halifax County Health Department to ensure medical needs are met, and various report preparations. Applicant must have strong communication skills and personal computer knowledge and experience. Must have the ability to use sound judgment and empathy in dealing with patients. Must be able to relate and communicate well to patients, staff and people from all social-economic groups and backgrounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.Requirements :
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All health department employees (with the exception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flu shot vaccine as part of condition of employment. An official completed Halifax County Application for Employment (HR1107) and college transcripts are required to fully evaluate your qualifications for this position.
