NSEA/NSA
Negotiated Agreement but is not in the bargaining unit. This person will serve as a member of the NSEA Management Team. The person holding this position reports to the Associate Executive Director for evaluation and supervision and may also be given assignments by the Executive Director and/or the President. Responsibilities Serve as an administrative assistant to the President and Board, the Executive Director, or the Associate Executive Director as directed. Support management regarding duties relating to the building, including but not limited to mechanical and equipment maintenance and service, and liaising between management and vendors/contractors. Maintain the confidentiality of information that becomes known through the course of the position, whether it be of fiscal, personal, or business nature, unless requested by the employer. Maintain and update files in NSEA's internal server (INTACT) as directed. May serve as administrative assistant to the EHA Chair by maintaining EHA files in NSEA's internal server (INTACT). Chair the planning committee of the NSEA Delegate Assembly Participate in planning for the NEA Representative Assembly Assist with maintaining and scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel as requested by management and/or governance. Assist with expense reports and gathering receipts as requested by management and/or governance. Proofread materials for other departments as needed. Update NSEA information management systems as requested. Provide support to the receptionist for answering the phones and door. Support activities that promote membership recruitment, engagement, and growth. Follow the policy of noninterference in the internal political affairs of locals and the NSEA, including member elections and decision making specifically reserved for governance or management. Supports the NSEA President and management to advance the interests of locals and members. Perform other duties as assigned by NSEA Management or President Skills/Requirements Ability to maintain confidentiality of information obtained in the course and scope of employment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and proficiency in, or ability to gain proficiency, using computer applications or databases used by the employer including but not limited to NEA 360 and INTACT. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize work. Ability to collaborate well with all staff and external partners. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Problem solving skills. Ability to lift 25 pounds when required. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Substantial use of hands, wrists, and fingers for typing, filing, and operating standard office equipment. Ability to travel independently, when necessary, including but not limited to ability to legally and physically operate a motor vehicle. Participating in and responding positively to the Association's evaluation and improvement process. Comply with the employer's policies, directives and the handbook. Regular, dependable, in-person attendance at work. Bachelor's or Associates degree preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
