The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at least three years of clerical experience, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Greet visitors and answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Manage incoming calls, directing inquiries efficiently and providing accurate information about department services. Perform data entry and maintain detailed records using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Spatial Data Logic software. Organize and file documents systematically to ensure quick retrieval and compliance with departmental policies. Process inspection requests received from SDL portal. Handle customer support requests with a friendly demeanor, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues. Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Minimum of three (3) years of clerical experience; experience working with the public highly desirable. Skills/Requirements Ability to operate computer, printer, fax machine, copier, and telephone system required. Candidate must be accurate, attentive to detail, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including excellent customer service skills. Must have ability to professionally make frequent contact with residents, other departments and general public. Contacts are in person, in writing, and by telephone. Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, and relevant terminology. Knowledge of local government and its operations is preferred. Ability to handle inquiries and/or complaints tactfully and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain complex record keeping systems. Skill in operating computers and applicable software applications including ability to learn new software systems quickly. Valid NJ Driver's license. New Jersey residency required pursuant to NJSA 54:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70). This is a union position covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the Township and Teamsters Local 676.

$42,093.00 per year
