DESCRIPTION
Secretary, 12 Month, Transportation Department
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide daily organizational, clerical and secretarial assistance to his/her designated supervisor(s). Under limited supervision as appropriate, the Secretary shall apply and share required levels of knowledge and skill, exercise independent judgment, and initiate independent action in his/her fulfillment of his/her assigned duties and contribute to the overall effective and efficient operation of his/her building or department and the district.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent Prior secretarial experience (minimum of three (3) years preferred) Ability to type 65 WPM (testing is a required portion of the hiring process) Secretarial experience in a public school setting is preferred. Business or secretarial courses and/or one (1) year of post-secondary training preferred. Ability to effectively utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and other office software, and such office equipment, as may be currently used in the District, required. Effective computational, problem-solving, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Effective Human relation skills that support collaborative communication and collaboration with supervisors, staff, students, parents/ guardians, community members, job applicants/ candidates, vendors/ consultants/ professionals, and other school district constituencies required. Compliance with the
NJ FIRST
Act Successful Criminal History Clearance Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Public School experience Bilingual/ Multilingual
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
12 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with the provisions of the
BOE/FTEA
collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27SY Step 1, 12 Mo. ($56,193) - Step 13, 12 Mo. ($61,693). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

ANNUAL EVALUATION
Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
