Job Description

The Pantry Services Assistant is responsible for direct service provision for clients receiving Evergreen Pantry Services. Pantry Services Assistant responsibilities include verification of eligibility and referral to adequate services. The position is part-time, 12 hours per week (Monday & Friday- 9:00am to 12:00pm, and Tuesday & Thursday- 12:30 to 3:30pm). As part of the essential functions of this job, the
Pantry Services Assistant:
Organizes and distributes groceries to patients utilizing the food pantry Packs food bags on scheduled pantry days Conducts initial eligibility assessment for all individuals requesting or referred for pantry services and supports front desk intake services Maintains inventory of the Food Pantry including organizing food deliveries Keeps accurate records and documentation of all pantry services and site deliveries Ensures physical pantry meets all safety and health guidelines including food storage and pantry cleanliness Assists with order and delivery of pantry foods to ensure that inventory meets the demands of the community Maintains accurate temperature logs on all pantry appliances, reporting any concerns to the Director of Health & Wellness A qualified candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a supportive, office, or retail position, preferably in a non-profit setting (or equivalent combination of training and experience); Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds without restriction to safely manage program supplies and equipment. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and time management skills; Candidate will have experience with MS Office software (Outlook, Word); awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essentialJob Type:
