Position Title 26-27 Building Principal's Secretary NW Required Application Type School Related Personnel Salary/Pay Scale $17.95 per HCSEA contract Job Description The Hilton Central School District has a vacancy for a Building Principal's Secretary at Northwood Elementary School. This is a 12 month, 7.5 hour/day position. The Building Principal's Secretary provides confidential administrative and clerical support to the Principal, ensuring the efficient operation of the school office. This position serves as a point of contact for students, staff and parents, and plays a key role in maintaining a positive and organized school environment. Duties and responsibilities include: Provide direct administrative support to the Principal, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and preparing correspondence. Serve as the main office receptionist by greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, and responding to inquiries. Assist with preparation and distribution of school communications, newsletters, reports, and announcements. Coordinate meetings, events, and conferences, including logistics and materials preparation. Process incoming and outgoing mail and manage office communications. Support staff with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and data entry. Handle sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality. Assist in maintaining office supplies inventory and placing orders as needed. Collaborate with district personnel, teachers, and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus either: (A) Three (3) years of paid full-time or part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology or a closely related field, plus one (1) year of office clerical or secretarial experience; OR, (C) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
