Job Description

Position Summary Reporting to the manager, the WPH Administrative Intern is responsible for research, coordination and functional support to their assigned department. The intern will assist with research, as well as provide operational, and administrative support for many of the department initiatives and annual processes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the
Following:
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors. Conduct best-practice research on the latest industry trends relevant to department initiatives. Develop and edit PowerPoint presentations and communications. Assist with daily activities, including rounding and intake phone calls and messages, where appropriate. Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently. Utilize Excel and PowerPoint for various projects and tasks. Handle filing and other administrative duties such as sorting faxes, mail, and copying documents as needed. Attend staff meetings, including event meetings and team meetings. Conduct research on department-related topics to support initiatives. Assist with planning logistics for department activities and events. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements Required:
Currently enrolled in a degree program in healthcare or a closely related field Core Competencies Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel Excellent customer service skills Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to be effective in both a group and one-on-one setting Outstanding listening, oral and written communication skills High degree of emotional intelligence; team-player who takes ownership Strong project management skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and timelines A demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to a variety of environments, and take responsibility and accountability for projects Detailed oriented and possess strong organizational skills Able to deal professionally and efficiently with all staff and all levels of management and external constituencies Perform multiple duties in a high volume area Self-starter, self-motivated and able to work independently Creative problem-solving Flexible, organized and able to assess priorities Excellent telephone manners and communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (meeting/event attendance, or at a computer). Ability to speak clearly and with the volume required to carry on clear conversations in person, over the phone and at public events. Must be able to travel to and from Main Hospital Campus, Offsite facilities and other event and venue meeting locations.
