Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a caring and dependable Administrative Assistant to support our staff and students in our alternative high school. In this role, you will greet students, caretakers, and community members as their first point of contact. This paid Part Time position offers a meaningful opportunity to ensure proper communication, documentation, and overall support in a daily learning environment.
Minimum Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent Strong organizational skills and ability to read and write accurately, operate computer and other equipment for the specific job responsibilities listed below. Have a working knowledge of standard office procedures and related technology including phone systems, computers, printers, copiers, scanners, etc. Strong professional communication skills and ability to maintain courteous and professional conduct towards students, caretakers, staff and guests at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Greet students and visitors and direct them to appropriate area, office, or program. Responsible for maintaining attendance rosters of students' attendance. Track daily attendance and reason for absences. Communicate all attendance information in appropriate platform for home school documentation. Distributes general organizational information to students and customers, may also provide general organizational information to public. Answers/ receives all incoming telephone calls for the program, answers general organizational questions and/or forwards caller to appropriate department or person. Disseminates messages for staff members of department unavailable to caller. Maintains appropriate filing system. Schedules appointments for appropriate staff as requested. Distributes incoming and prepares outgoing mail. Relieves the LOC Administrator of general clerical type functions in order to increase Administrator's time for responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director. Performs daily office tasks such as filing, recording, maintaining records, and producing/ typing correspondence, distribute copying, posting, and other similar duties using office equipment. May be responsible distributing inventory or purchased materials. Will perform a variety of tasks for Learning Opportunities HS Program, as assigned by appropriate supervisor. May handle a wide variety of situations and conflicts involving the clerical and administrative function of the office. Conducts outreach and works closely with LOC Counselor to establish connections and engage organizations that provide important post‐secondary connections Coordinate on‐site resource presentations. Assists with classroom activities. Validates, tracks, records appropriate information and data for necessary reporting. $28,000.00 - $32,500.00 per year
