Job Description

Overview The Port of Brookings Harbor is seeking a reliable and organized Office Assistant to join our team and help keep daily operations running smoothly. This important role supports a variety of administrative, accounting, and customer service functions for the Port, marina, and Beachfront RV Park. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, friendly, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent service to the public. Pay & Schedule $18.00 per hour Full-time (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance SEP IRA retirement plan Paid holidays Vacation and sick leave Duties Manage front office responsibilities, including greeting visitors and assisting customers professionally Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and provide accurate information about Port services and the RV Park Perform data entry and maintain records using QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel Assist with accounting tasks including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and purchase orders Process cash, credit card, and electronic payments with accuracy and issue receipts Assist with reconciling deposits and perform daily bank runs and local business errands Support RV Park operations by booking reservations and registering guests Maintain organized files, records, and office systems Provide general information about Port policies, services, and the local community Assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as assigned Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid Oregon driver's license required Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and QuickBooks (preferred) Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask Strong customer service and communication skills (in person and phone) Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and recordkeeping abilities Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new responsibilities Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the public, including handling occasional conflicts Work Environment Primarily indoor office setting with occasional outdoor tasks Frequent interaction with the public, marina users, and RV Park guests Fast-paced environment with regular interruptions Additional Information This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime as required by law. This role does not supervise staff but works closely with the Office Manager, Port Manager, and operations team.
