Job Description

Job Summary The Laboratory Adminstrative Assistant will work in a mushroom spawn laboratory and will assist and back-up the Spawn Lab Manager; Assist and support the Exotics Growing Manager, Growing Assistant and Production Supervisor Responsibilities 1. Weekly production scheduling 2. Code batches as per production schedule 3. All exotic's movement/ discard/ usage records 4. Code maitake batches, stage maitake spawn and prepare maitake production record forms 5. Maintain Oyster, King Oyster, Lion's Mane and Chestnut spawn inventory reports 6. Print Tickets for Oyster and Shiitake Pick Records along with log production 7. Print Oyster Order Forms 8. Enter sawdust handling reports into the Access database 9. Quarterly inventory support 10. Prepare log production reports 11. Enter training records into Access database 12. Conduct QA training as needed 13. Prepare & pour agar media for contamination screening 14. Prep plates for spawn inoculation 15. Wash and prepare all uniforms for sterilization 16. Supply inventory and place orders as needed (competitive pricing of sources) 17. Place orders for production staff as needed 18. Maintain supply order's database 19. Pick-up supplies from packing as needed 20. Update Safety Poster monthly and Optisign management; support our safety culture 21. Process sterilization information from Nautilus data loggers and Autoclave SD Cards. 22. Process RMA's as needed for repairs 23. Stage and code all spawn and logs needed for Productions for following week 24. Process all orders received from customers and enter into Database/ Google Sheets for AR 25. Enter Daily Pick Tickets into Database 26. Read moisture and pH samples daily and enter into QA database 27. Calibrate pH meter daily 28. Compile and process weekly QA records; print weekly QA report summaries 29. Check Inventory at The Woodlands and restock kits along assisting Linda with Special Orders 30. Track QA Weekly Paperwork and prepare Reports 31. Filing 32. Prepare Primaries for cultures 33. Prepare NJFL Samples for shipping 34. Process monthly Amex statement Experience 1. High School Diploma or above. 2. Strong communication skills. 3. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. 4. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. 5. Ability to follow established procedures and report concerns. 6. Outstanding time management skills. 7.
Strong computer skills:
Microsoft Access, Excel & Word; Google spreadsheets.
Working Conditions:
Office environment: desk; environmentally controlled; ergonomic options provided
Laboratory:
Clean area uniform and dedicated shoes are required; HEPA filtered temperature controlled.
Coolers:
Insulated jackets provided. Frequent exposure to vibration. Moderate noise level.
Physical Requirements:
1. Stand, sit and walk regularly. 2. Use hands/ wrists /shoulders regularly. 3. Lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally 4. Bend, squat, reach Schedule/Pay 1. 5:30am-2:00pm Monday-Friday 2. Pay based on experience. Competitive pay rates available
