This position is working in the Commission Appeals department. The Administrative Assistant VI position is located at our main downtown location at 101 E. 15th Street, Austin, Texas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.
WHO YOU ARE
You have the Administrative Assistant experience to perform highly advanced (senior-level) administrative support work. Work involves providing and coordinating internal administrative support including disseminating information, developing filing systems, and preparing and editing reports and documents. Supervising the work of others. Working under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO
Coordinate internal administrative support work for departmental teams Supervise administrative support staff Administer Performance Reviews in accordance with TWC standards Perform HR duties; leave/timesheets, FMLA/LOA/Parental Leave, Disciplinary Actions, Assist in Hiring Develop administrative and technical policies and procedures Participate in the planning and execution of Commission Appeals programs Interpret and disseminate information to internal and external customers Coordinate, prepare and send Commission Appeals Correspondence Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for various Commission Appeals reports and Human Resources data Develop and update team's standard operating procedures Maintain confidential personnel files following agency guidelines Coordinate, proof and process Commission Appeal decisions Perform regular staff audits and training Attend and conduct regular weekly meetings Receive and respond to incoming communication from teams and management giving technical assistance Coordinate assignment processes and staff schedules Answer phones when necessary Perform other duties as assigned
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH
Leadership experience in planning, developing, implementing projects and activities and supervising teams Managing staff schedules Experience conducting meetings Advanced proficiency in MS Word Excel, Outlook, MainFrame, Adobe Pro Knowledge of TWC UI procedures and policies Knowledge of TWC HR policies
YOU QUALIFY WITH
Five years of full-time experience that provided knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices, such as preparation, maintenance and control of forms, records, and reports. Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
