Summary An ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Administrator oversees the operations of an ABA therapy organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing staff, and optimizing service delivery for individuals with autism and other developmental disorders.
Their duties typically include:
1. Administrative & Operational Management Overseeing daily operations of the ABA clinic or program Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, insurance policies) Managing budgets, billing, and financial reporting Coordinating with insurance providers for authorizations and claims 2. Staff Management & Supervision Hiring, training, and supervising behavior therapists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) Ensuring staff adhere to ABA therapy best practices and ethical guidelines Conducting performance evaluations and providing professional development opportunities 3. Client Services & Program Oversight Ensuring high-quality ABA services are provided to clients Monitoring treatment plans utilization and success Addressing client concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction Coordinating scheduling and caseload management for therapists 4. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensuring adherence to BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) guidelines Implementing and monitoring policies for ethical service delivery Conducting internal audits and quality control measures 5. Communication & Stakeholder Relations Serving as a liaison between families, therapists, and funding sources Managing relationships with schools, healthcare providers, and community resources Organizing staff meetings and training sessions 6. Strategic Growth & Development Expanding ABA services and improving business strategies Developing partnerships with schools and healthcare organizations Implementing new technologies or programs to improve service efficiency The role of an ABA administrator is crucial in ensuring a well-functioning, ethical, and effective therapy program for individuals receiving ABA services. Qualifications The qualifications for an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Administrator vary depending on the organization and specific role, but typically include: 1. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Management) (preferred) 2. Certifications & Licensure Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (helpful for understanding ABA principles) Healthcare Administration or Management Certifications (e.g., Certified Healthcare Administrator) can be advantageous 3.
Experience Requirements ABA Therapy Experience :
Several years of experience in an ABA clinic, school, or healthcare setting,
Supervisory/Administrative Experience :
Experience in management, operations, or leadership in a behavioral health or therapy setting (required) Excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications Familiarity with event planning, project coordination, and office management Competence in data entry, bookkeeping, and clerical tasks Clerical Duties Strong scheduling and calendar organization
Insurance & Billing Knowledge :
Familiarity with Medicaid, private insurance policies, and medical billing procedures 4.
Key Skills & Competencies Knowledge of ABA Principles :
Understanding of behavioral therapy methods, ethics, and compliance
Leadership & Staff Management :
Ability to supervise and train therapists, BCBAs, and administrative staff
Regulatory Compliance :
Familiarity with

Financial & Business Management :

Strong Communication Skills :
