THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Forest is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support at our facility. This position provides essential clerical support that keeps the office running efficiently and ensures accurate communication across the department. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:Document Preparation:
Type correspondence, reports, policies, and other documents using computer applicationsEditing Accuracy:
Format, proofread, and edit materials while meeting required deadlinesClerical Support:
Assist managers and staff through typing, tracking, and cross-trained dutiesReception Tasks:
Assist visitors, answer calls, and route inquiries to appropriate staffFile Management:
Maintain organized filing systems for all correspondence and recordsConfidential Handling:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework:

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:
