Job Description

We are looking for a Community Living Lead to provide oversight and support for a very unique program serving one young adult who lives in his own townhouse-style apartment in Waukesha. This is a special, relationship-based position supporting an incredibly kind, fun, and engaging young man who loves spending time both in the community and learning new things at home. His support focuses on building independence and life skills, including:
  • Cooking and meal planning
  • Laundry and household tasks
  • Grocery shopping
  • Safety and daily living routines Equally important is fun and community integration.
Activities often include:
  • Walks in the community
  • Beach and pool outings
  • Movies and plays
  • Going out to eat
  • Community events and activities The Lead will also take him to his day program two days per week and assist him there.
You would be joining a team that has worked together for three years. The team is kind, professional, and hardworking, and the environment is warm, respectful, and welcoming for both the individual and the staff. Team members are treated like the talented professionals they are, with higher-than-average pay, bonuses, flexible scheduling, and a comfortable home environment. Position Structure This is a full-time leadership role with a blend of direct support and administrative responsibilities.
  • 4 days per week: Direct support, staff oversight/training care, and skills training with the individual
  • 1 day per week: Work from home on administrative tasks such as ○ Menu planning ○ Reviewing timesheets ○ Planning the activity calendar Hours are primarily first shift, but we are looking for someone with flexibility to occasionally cover other shifts when needed.
These decisions are shared collaboratively with the owner and made in a way that works for the team. (
Note:
Third shift is a paid sleep shift.) Team Leadership Responsibilities
  • Spend time each week shadowing team members briefly to ensure they feel supported.
  • Plan and facilitate team meetings.
  • Ensure staff are following the menu plan, activity calendar, and medication administration procedures
  • Help maintain a consistent, high-quality support environment
  • On-Call Expectations = approximately 20 days per year
  • On-call staff must be able to report to the home within one hour if needed
  • Historically, the on-call person has never needed to come in, but availability is part of the expectation
  • On-call stipend provided Additional Details
  • A company vehicle is provided for transporting the individual to activities and appointments, including day programming. You will not use your personal vehicle.
  • We are looking for someone who is interested in making a
LONG-TERM
commitment to this individual and the team.
  • There is potential for future growth, though it would likely be 5+ years down the road. The owner hopes to eventually transition the business to the right person if they would like that opportunity. Compensation & Benefits
  • $26+/hour depending on experience
