About Cornell HR Information Systems HR Information Systems supports the strategic goals of Human Resources by delivering technical solutions through Workday, Cornell's human capital management system. We partner with campus stakeholders to provide system expertise, customer engagement, project management, and operational support that enable timely and effective delivery of HR services. The Opportunity The Project Administrative Assistant supports the Assistant Director HR Project Management, by providing administrative and project support to project teams, assisting with coordination of activities, scheduling, timelines, documentation, and communication. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, trainings, webinars, and events; supporting project tracking and reporting activities; maintaining project documentation and web content; and assisting with communication among internal and external stakeholders. The role also provides routine administrative and clerical support to ensure projects and unit operations run efficiently and in alignment with established procedures and timelines that are accurately tracked and shared. The role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills while operating within established guidelines, procedures, and priorities. The CEMI Project Administrative Assistant is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow beyond traditional administrative work while still being deeply involved in operations, coordination, and team support. This is a 2-year term appointment which may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance. Hours and Location The CEMI Project Administrative Assistant is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that can be performed remotely. Cornell University HRIS operates on Eastern Time hours, and the anticipated schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Because the CEMI initiative supports employees across multiple time zones, some schedule flexibility, including occasional earlier start times, may be needed to support business operations. High School Diploma and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to create moderately complex documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Experience with database entry and maintenance. Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Effective written communication skills including ability to draft correspondence and edit documents. Demonstrated ability to resolve routine problems and refer complex issues appropriately. Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. If you have all those things, great!
