Job Description

Spartanburg Housing currently has an opening for a full-time Support Coordinator in our Housing Choice Voucher Department, located at our Administrative building on Arch Street in Spartanburg.
Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide customer service to tenants, landlords, visitors, staff, contractors, and the public. The position answers or refers questions and provides information in person, via email, and over the phone, respectfully listening and communicating to help resolve problems. This position performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Works cooperatively with other members of the department, adjusting workload as necessary when other staff members are out. Answer resident and landlord questions, providing information on the status of rent, damage claims, property inspections, provisions of the lease and contract, and program regulations. Backup for the front desk and reception area of Spartanburg Housing's Provides clerical and administrative support to the HCV team, including recordkeeping, document generation, data tracking, telephoning, mailing, and filing. Assists with the recruitment of prospective landlords and owners to participate in the HCV program and establishes a landlord group. Processes incoming returned checks, updates information in appropriate locations, and files related documentation. Processes interim re-certifications.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED, with a minimum of (3) three years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or customer service representative in a high-volume office setting. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which, in the sole determination of Spartanburg Housing, provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be considered sufficient.
