Job Description

Position Summary Works under general direction to perform responsible, clerical work involved in scheduling, analyzing, processing, and maintaining policy-level financial, statistical, and data control reports and records with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment to act in a lead capacity.
Pay Grade:
43 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work; AND High School diploma or possess a GED; OR Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarter hours).
PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities Prepares complex statements, reports, and/or analyses, resolutions. Verifies any or all information compiled, analyzed, recorded and maintained. Maintains and determines disposition of all records associated with function of job. Makes decisions regarding work and various types of records requiring the use of independent judgment. Oversees and/or directs the work of a small group of clerical personnel. Trains new employees in work function and tasks. Resolves difficult and complex problems. Perform other related duties as required. KSAs Knowledge of laws, ordinances, rules and regulations affecting the record-keeping operations of a department and skill in applying them. Ability to plan, organize, and maintain an even flow of work. Knowledge of business English and math. Ability to compose general correspondence and write and type documents for a variety of needs. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software. Ability to analyze and solve problems and exercise good judgment. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, co-worker and other departments. May require specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities in specified work functions or areas. The residency exemption for public safety/civil service employees does not include Appointed positions with Sheriff's Office, Division of Corrections or the Fire Department.
