Job Summary:
Physicians Services Clerk The Physician Services Clerk provides quality customer service to patients and performs those functions delegated and assigned by theOffice Manager Essential Functions:
Carries out front office activities in a kind and courteous manner and is helpful to customers and their families Notifies office manager of customer complaints in a timely manner Gathers appropriate demographic information on each customer and updates the practice management system Notifies customers of long waits and offers alternatives Ensures effective telephone communication and documents messages Coordinates all EMR/medical record activities Collects and post payments and ensures safety and security of all monies Schedules patients and coordinates appointment scheduler activities to facilitate efficient patient flow Performs insurance eligibility verification and obtains prior authorization as needed Researches patient ledger in effort to educate patient on balances due and collect payment for services rendered Performs appointment confirmation telephone calls Completes required in-services Participates in the development and implementation of patient satisfaction improvements Makes referrals to other medical care team members when neededEducation :
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree or high preferred . Knowledge and experience with computers, coding, and medical terminology preferredEEOC Statement:
