Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to independently resolve problems. Ability to develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive records and files. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree. Previous experience in higher education. Previous experience preparing purchases orders and compliance forms. Knowledge of centralized automated accounting systems. Experience with Texas State programs, including SAP, LOGI, SLATE, Concur, and Banner. Job Description The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and general clerical support to the Bachelor's in Public Administration and the Master's in Public Administration programs and secondarily to the department of Political Science as a whole. Job Duties Answer telephones, screen and transfer calls, take messages, and refer to other offices as appropriate all inquiries about the online BPA program. Assist in managing the academic operations of the BPA and MPA programs. Compose program correspondence, files, and forms that track program and student progress. Coordinate meetings, maintain compliance forms, and prepare various events and activities. Organize and prioritize work. Maintain program director calendar. Coordinate arrangements for meetings. Prepare and review purchase orders and invoices. Maintain ledgers. Monitor due dates of all assignments and projects. Supervise student workers. Prepare Travel documents. Assist in tasks supporting the department and other tasks as assigned.
