Non-Exempt Essential Functions The Senior Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs will support the Vice President of Academic Affairs in all Instructional business, functions, and activities by performing key administrative and organizational tasks for the Office of the VPAA and as directed by the VPAA will assist all other administrators reporting to the VPAA, faculty, staff, students, and outside constituents as needed through the daily operations of the office. Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to staff, faculty, students, and the general public. Maintain student and employee confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. Conduct office work according to college policy and protocol and ensure workflows are efficient and effective. Coordinates meetings for VPAA and serves as the note-taker. Prepares minutes for meetings conducted by the VPAA. Submits work orders as needed and requested by the VPAA. Orders supplies as needed/requested. Serves as the lead administrative assistant in the Instruction organization. Adheres to CBC Records Retention Policy. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate Degree is required. A minimum of one year of work experience, technical skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and strong math skills preferred. Additional requirements include a preference for strong writing, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in higher education.
Supplemental Information Other Duties:
College responsibilities such as a committee; Duties as assigned by the President or VPAA.
Travel Requirements:
May on occasion travel to a distant site location.
Environment:
Work may generally be performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume. May require some outdoor work for CBC events.
