This position is locally funded. Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date. Position Summary Under moderate supervision provide routine clerical support for the efficient operation of the school counseling office and professional staff. Maintain current and accurate confidential student records. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency. Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years clerical experience. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in Google Drive and Google programs (Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides). Knowledge of general office procedures. Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to meet established deadlines. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records. Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignment on short notice with some direction. Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities Provide general clerical support including word processing, data entry, filing, and file maintenance. Assist with the registration of new students, including requesting and sending student records, entering student data, and ensure completeness of records. Process changes and adjustments to student schedules. Maintain complete and accurate student records including test scores and final grades on permanent records. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Assist counselor(s) with scheduling of meetings and appointments. Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures. Assist in campus office as needed. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district routines and regulations. Daily attendance at work and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Maintain confidentiality of information. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None.
