GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position provides administrative and clerical support for the daily operations of the Child Development Lab School, assisting the Facility Director, staff, and families. The role also supports faculty within the Child Studies and Education program as needed, contributing to efficient program operations and a welcoming educational environment. This position receives general direction from the Facility Director of the Child Development Lab School and exercises no supervision.
NOTE:
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
Some work experience

Experience:
Work experience in an office environment or child development center
SELECTION CRITERIA

Knowledge of:
1. English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation; 2. Office methods and practices, including filing systems, record maintenance, and basic report and correspondence preparation; 3. Principles and procedures of basic recordkeeping and data management; 4. Operation of modern office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and multi-line phone systems; 5. Commonly used computer software and applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related systems; 6. Customer service principles, particularly in a family-focused or educational environment; Skills in: 7. Providing courteous, professional, and responsive customer service to students, parents, staff, and visitors; 8. Proofreading, editing, and preparing documents with accuracy and attention to detail; 9. Organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; 10. Maintaining accurate records and files in both electronic and paper formats; Ability to: 11. Communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written form; 12. Understand, interpret, and follow oral and written instructions; 13. Learn and effectively use new technologies, software, and office systems; 14. Perform a wide range of general clerical and administrative support duties; 15. Operate a keyboard at a speed necessary for successful job performance; 16. Take and relay messages accurately and clearly via phone, email, and voicemail; 17. Work efficiently under deadlines and time constraints; 18. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and families; 19. Handle confidential, sensitive, and occasionally challenging situations with professionalism, discretion, and empathy;
WORKING CONDITIONS
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activates. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
