Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant municipal team as a Part-Time City Clerk, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of city administrative functions. This dynamic position offers an exciting opportunity to support local government activities, manage essential clerical tasks, and serve as a friendly point of contact for residents and visitors alike. Your contributions will help ensure our city runs efficiently and transparently while providing exceptional service to the community. Duties Handle multi-line phone systems, providing accurate information and routing calls effectively Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and document proofreading to ensure organizational integrity Assist with calendar management and scheduling for city officials and department meetings Responsible for connecting/disconnecting resident services Assist with elections, licensing and building permits as needed. Proper record keeping of cemetery and manifest billing Provide exceptional customer support by addressing resident questions promptly and courteously while maintaining excellent phone etiquette Requirements Minimum typing speed of 40-50 words per minute Strong attention to spelling, grammar and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse community needs effectively Previous administrative or personal assistant experience is beneficial but not mandatory Exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously Strong attention to spelling, grammar and verbal communication skills Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and poise Dependability and ability to work independently
QUALIFICATIONS
