Job DescriptionWe are seeking to fill an opening for a full-time entry level Personal Lines Insurance Underwriter/Assistant. The Job responsibilities include determining acceptability of risks and assisting independent insurance agents in writing and maintaining home, auto, earthquake and umbrella policies. As a Personal Lines Underwriter, you will be responsible for many tasks including responding to underwriting and acceptability questions from the agency force, reviewing changes made to policies, data-entry, upkeep of maintenance reports, and payment processing/reinstating policies.

QualificationsRequirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance standards and practices with at least 1 year working in the insurance industry.
  • Dependable, punctual and self-motivated
  • Must be highly effective under pressure and be able to successfully prioritize and manage tasks
  • Take pride in a job well done and works with integrity
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team player and be willing to help where needed
  • Willingness to learn and comply with company and industry guidelines.
