No VP Area Academic Affairs Department 01541 - Office for Global Engagement Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range 15.50 Close Date 05/27/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary This position provides administrative support for the Office for Global Engagement and assists with the development of specific department programs. The preferred applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication abilities, be self-motivated, professional, and have a service-minded mentality to help bring OGE's vision and mission forward. In addition to general office support, this position will have direct responsibilities toward implementing the following special projects:
ADA Compliance Initiative:
Reviewing, editing, and updating digital materials to comply with federal accessibility guidelines and regulations.
Travel insurance support:
assist with the registration verification of university employees in the travel insurance database.
Hosting:
Prepare for and receive delegations of international visitors. Responsibilities Perform usability and accessibility checks of communication and program material Identify and update inaccessible content, elements, and tools in digital course materials Assist in developing accessibility training materials and videos Greets visitors and communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints. Responds to queries from and coordinates activities with other departments, the community, and program partners. Assists in the creation and distribution of program materials, forms, and general correspondence. Compiles, sorts, and organizes data for entry into a database. Provides administrative support to front desk. Support front desk administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to: responding to calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating contact sheets and reports. Professionally interact with students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Report to supervisors for assignments. Respond to requests in a timely manner. Meet all assigned deadlines within a flexible working schedule. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Preferences Current University of Utah student One year of computer operations experience Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with Windows, Mac, tablets, and mobile devices Experience with Canvas LMS as a student or instructor Effective communication skills Attention to detail Experience learning and using new software Organization and time management skills Ability to perform the essential job functions as outlined above.
