Job Description
Administrative Assistant-Mountain Sunrise Academy Position Summary The Administrative Assistant serves as a key member of the school team and is often the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors. This position supports daily school operations by managing front office responsibilities, maintaining records, assisting with communication and scheduling, supporting student needs, and helping create a welcoming, organized, and efficient school environment.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (or current enrollment in a GED program) Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills Ability to maintain professional relationships with students, families, staff, and the public Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with technology, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, and databasesPreferred:
Three years of clerical, administrative, or office experience (related education may substitute for experience) Experience working in a school setting CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification Knowledge of office procedures, records management, and financial accountability processes Ability to work independently, problem solve, and adapt to changing needs Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the primary front office contact for students, parents, staff, visitors, and community members Answer phones, respond to emails, greet visitors, and provide information in a professional and welcoming manner Conduct visitor check-ins and volunteer clearances, including background verification and required documentation Manage student attendance, tardies, check-ins/check-outs, and related communications Coordinate substitute teacher and staff requests and maintain scheduling records Maintain student, office, and confidential records and files Prepare correspondence, newsletters, reports, forms, and school communications Support student health needs including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response procedures as needed Coordinate office operations, supply orders, inventories, purchasing requests, and office organization Assist with field trips, school events, board meetings, and other school activities Support administrators and faculty with daily operational and clerical needs Reserve common spaces and assist with scheduling and logistical coordination Maintain office equipment and operate standard office technology Foster a positive, welcoming school culture and model professionalism in all interactions Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualities Calm, compassionate, and solution-oriented under pressure Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor Ability to work effectively with children and familiesPay:
