Personal Assistant / Operations Coordinator — Electrical Contracting AJ Long Electric, LLC | Fairfax, VA | Full-Time About Us AJ Long Electric is a family-owned residential electrical contractor serving Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland since 1996. We've built a reputation on quality work and over 1,200 five-star reviews. We run a tight, tech-forward operation and we're looking for someone sharp to help keep the engine running. The Role This is a hybrid personal assistant / operations role reporting directly to the owner. You'll be the person who makes sure things don't fall through the cracks — handling scheduling, communications, follow-ups, documentation, and day-to-day administrative work across both the business and the owner's plate. If you're organized, proactive, and good at taking ownership without being micromanaged, you'll thrive here. What You'll Do Manage calendars, scheduling, and appointment coordination Handle inbound and outbound communications (calls, texts, emails) and keep the inbox under control Coordinate with field technicians and customers on job scheduling and follow-ups Track tasks, deadlines, and open items — and chase them down to completion Maintain records, files, and documentation in our systems (Housecall Pro and related tools) Draft correspondence, letters, and routine documents Run errands and handle personal/administrative tasks for the owner as needed Help identify and clean up operational bottlenecks What We're Looking For 2+ years in an administrative, executive assistant, operations, or office management role Excellent written and verbal communication Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new software and tools Self-starter who takes ownership and solves problems without hand-holding Reliable, discreet, and trustworthy Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Nice to Have Experience in the trades, home services, or a small business environment Familiarity with Housecall Pro, CRM systems, or scheduling software Bookkeeping or light financial admin experience AI experience Compensation & Schedule $15-$35 Per Hour depending on Experience Full-time, Monday-Friday Based in Fairfax, VA (in-office) Why Join Us You'll work directly with the owner of a growing, well-run small business where your work has real impact.
