Join the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office as a Volunteer Liaison (Administrative Specialist I) and play an important role in supporting the volunteers who advocate for children in our community. In this dynamic position, you'll help manage the day-to-day operations by guiding volunteers through onboarding, coordinating trainings, and serving as a resource for questions related to certifications, requirements, and next steps. You'll also help foster strong relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners while supporting the overall success of the Guardian ad Litem office. The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office is Florida's award-winning, state-funded child advocacy organization that provides independent legal representation to abused, abandoned, and neglected children involved in dependency court proceedings. Arrange conferences and prepare materials for and participate in training sessions. Collect data for statistical reports. Create and maintain automated office systems. Provide information to volunteers, personnel, and the public. Monitor office or program expenditures. Establish working relationships with judges, State Courts System personnel, and staff of state and local government, community organizations, vendors, volunteers, and the public. Other administrative duties as assigned. Work is performed under general supervision. About the
Schedule Work Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. About You To be considered for this role, you must have the following: High School Diploma or equivalent education and 0 - 2 years of business-related experience or exposure. Possess an aptitude and willingness to learn. The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities: Please note that these are not requirements but bonuses for your consideration. 2+ years of progressively responsible administrative, administrative support, or other comparable experience and/or a college education in a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the ability to interact professionally with the public and team members. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and charts; perform basic math and simple statistical calculations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel), or ability to quickly learn new systems and tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments and deadlines, and maintain efficient filing or workflow systems. Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
