Job Description

Description:
The Food Access and Gleaning Coordinator works gleaning products from farms and distributing food to recipients and agencies. Responsibilities include coordinating with farmers to glean surplus from fields and pick up pack-house 2nds with the help of volunteers. The position also helps make deliveries of gleaned and purchased food and aggregates produced produce for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box programs. The Food Access and Gleaning Coordinator also works on online orders and deliveries from distribution centers. Please view our full job description:
Food Access and Gleaning Coordinator Requirements:
Two years of relevant experience related to food systems, farming, social services, and/or advocacy. Associates degree in an appropriate discipline preferred. Ability to work effectively and respectfully with clients served by CVOEO and with a broad range of individuals and organizations in carrying out all assigned functions. Effective people skills for supporting volunteers and communicating with farmers and other community partners. Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision. Well organized, able to work independently and cooperatively as team member. Effective verbal and written communication skills required bilingual abilities are a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications, including databases, email and internet-based tools Ability to harvest field crops for several hours at a time and lift moderately to heavy boxes of food. Assist with providing basic housekeeping and facility maintenance chores. Commitment to the program's mission, goals, and the roles of members of the agency including staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and other outside agencies is required. Familiarity with issues facing economically disadvantaged, low-income and multi-cultural/ethnically diverse populations is needed. Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues. Clean driving record, valid driver's license, and access to reliable transportation must be maintained and ability and willingness to travel within the CVOEO service area.
