The Coordinator, Swift Student Center provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Swift Student Center within Marquette Business, serving various supportive student services within the college. Key responsibilities include managing student and process data, supporting events and operations, overseeing visitor reception and assisting with financial administration.
Duties and Responsibilities Student and Process Data :
Prepare advising summaries and support course approval processes for study abroad programs, including communication with students and data visualization tasks. Coordinate course evaluations for domestic and international institutions in partnership with other colleges and the Registrar. Compile, organize, and update data for center-run surveys, assessments, and employer feedback in support of student success initiatives. Organize and maintain data & reports for Internship for Credit courses.
Operations and Event Support:
Coordinate event logistics as needed for center initiatives, including space booking, catering, and pre-and-post registration and material needs. Provide day-of event staffing support as needed, including setup, takedown, and post-event organization for Swift Student Center events, student organization, and employer tabling.
Visitor Support & Reception:
Welcome and assist all individuals entering the Swift Student Center, ensuring a friendly, inclusive, and service-oriented environment. Responsible for the supervision of welcome desk student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc. Respond to phone and email inquiries for the Swift Student Center and Business Career Center, ensuring prompt and accurate routing and follow-up.
Financial Administration:
Process receipts, manage credit card statements, and support payment processing for events and departmental purchases. Handle employer visit entries in Handshake, track event payments, and deposit career-event sponsorships. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High School diploma or GED Minimum of 5 years administrative experience. Will consider less experience with higher degree. Will consider those with less experience and higher educational degree. Articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written and non-verbal communication skills as well as listening for meaning to gain understanding in person and in writing. Customer service skills with experience serving a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior and the ability to take initiative, to produce high quality results and project a professional presence. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond flexibly to operational needs. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and improve processes. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Associate's or vocational/technical school degree Experience coordinating programs or events. Supervisory experience; Experience coordinating and mentoring student workers is preferred. Experience with student records systems such as PeopleSoft. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Handshake, Converge, and ability to learn Power BI and Qualtrics.
