Position #261334; https://wecan.waspa.org/Employer/Vacancy/261334 The Shorewood School District is seeking an energetic and community-minded Administrative Assistant to join the Shorewood High School team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage all administrative and operational aspects of the high school office, providing administrative and operational support to the Building Principal, other school leaders, and faculty, to aid in developing and maintaining the highest quality educational programs and services. This is a 10-month (school-year position). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Coordinates all aspects of office operation, including taking messages, answering inquiries and routing calls. Maintains confidential files, for an administrator, associated with personnel communication, departmental functions and students. Monitors employee absences and coordinates substitutes. Provides highly skilled clerical services, including proficiency in computer applications as required by the position, filing, and knowledge of all office machines. Possesses complete knowledge of department and building procedures for providing information and materials needed by the staff and/or community. Compiles and/or assists in preparing a variety of specialized materials such as correspondence, memos, reports, school and District forms, media releases and other communications. Maintains accurate records of cash transactions and other monetary activities. Schedules and maintains a calendar of events, appointments, and activities for immediate supervisors and building use. Purchases and distributes office supplies and materials, and maintains inventories to support office and school functions Maintains building budget including grants. Ensure proper use of resources as outlined by District policies and procedures. Manages cash handling and deposits for the building, ensuring accurate account allocations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess sound prioritization, organization and time management skills. Must possess advanced word processing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and work positively, effectively, and ethically with students, parents, community members and District/Village personnel. Must demonstrate strong convictions and support for the District's mission, vision, and goals. Must respect and promote the appreciation of diversity and is culturally responsive to the community, students, parents, and District personnel. Must perform duties with awareness of all District requirements as well as Board and District policies and guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred Previous administrative assistant experience preferred, school experience highly desirable. Knowledge of K-12 or similar software applications such as Skyward, Infinite Campus, and Google Suite. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day. Ability to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to ten pounds without assistance in an indoor setting. Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance. Ability to move throughout the building and from building to building. Knowledge of districts adopted, or similar, software applications such as Skyward, Infinite Campus, Microsoft Office and the Google Suite. WORK ENVIRONMENT
