Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
A. General Duties 1. Receive patients, schedule appointments, and direct calls to appropriate personnel. 2. Responsible for opening and closing the clinic. 3. Complete supply inventory and order supplies when assigned. 4. Assess correct fees for services received. 5. Provide receipts to patients and other third party payers, such as insurance. 6. Maintain filing & accurate documents in medical charts. 7. Compile statistical information as directed. 8. Maintain forms; revised and create as needed. 9. Collect and compile patient visitation records on every patient. 10. Assist with data gathering, and special projects as directed. 11. Adhere to Health protocols. 12. Must be proficient with the patient database. 13. Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification 14. Review updated medical materials. 15. Follow Universal Safety Precautions. B. Financial Duties 1. Assist with billing client account receivables monthly. 2. Responsible for billing Medicaid, insurance, and 3rd party payers. 3. Responsible for receiving, posting, and maintaining 3rd party payments. 4. Responsible for communicating with insurance companies regarding accounts. 5. Responsible for communicating with clients regarding their accounts. 6. Maintain software and update computer insurance components as required. 7. Adhere to financial policies & procedures. C. Medical Duties 1. Provide medications and medical information as directed by Medical Provider(s). 2. Responsible for packaging and mailing paps and other tests as directed. 3. Follow Universal Safety Precautions. D. Other Responsibilities 1. Some travel required. 2. Report directly to Clinic Director. 3. Attend staff meetings when scheduled. 4. Assist with maintaining medical protocols and medical policies. 5. Perform other duties as assigned. 6. Cooperate and work with other personnel. E. Qualifications 1. Must be organized and detail oriented. 2. Must possess excellent communication, computer, & bookkeeping skills. 3. Must be reliable, self- directed & work independently and as a team member. 4. General or medical office experience preferred. 5. Must have a High School degree or equivalent, Associates preferred. 6. Position requires heavy lifting at times. 7. Demonstrated communication and counseling skills.
