Job Goal:
To provide excellent IT customer service by supporting the configuration and maintenance of data flow for accounts, devices, and systems of the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Two years of minimum basic IT or comparable experience. Preferred three (3) years' experience in a similar position, formal technical training experience, education, and/or certifications (e.g., Apple certification). Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency in the use of common Microsoft Office applications. Advanced skills in Excel preferred. Basic knowledge of data systems and their functionality in an integrated platform environment (e.g. Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), Inventory, and Single Sign-On). Ability to work with little direction and supervision toward the timely completion of projects. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt technical language to a non-technical audience. Ability to identify and solve problems as a productive team member. Ability to use technology to communicate, manage data, and produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or information. Possess and m aintain a valid D river's License and have own transportation to visit schools throughout the system. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
Work at times may require:
significant lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, the ability to work in environments with loud noises, and/or extreme heat or cold. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities. Processes IT service requests in an effective and timely manner. Assists with the maintenance and configuration of district data systems. Supports the setup and maintenance of automated data feeds between critical systems and services. Generates and analyzes data reports that help establish department goals, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision making. Ensures data integrity across all district platforms through routine audits and quality checks. Facilitates inventory processes for both Hardware and Software according to Data Governance guidelines. Provides support and assistance with the daily operations of Student Information Systems. Serves as point of escalation for issues impacting hardware and software related to data systems. Communicates technical issues and information effectively with non-technical faculty, staff, and administrators. Performs reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by department managers. Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system and advises end users on the care, maintenance and use of equipment and inventory. Participates in training programs, professional development, or other learning to increase skill and proficiency related to job performance and leadership. Possesses or develops knowledge of relevant laws (e.g.
FERPA, CIPA
) and trends in K-12 education. Demonstrates ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments appropriately, and adapt quickly to address unplanned issues. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Works cooperatively and productively with school system staff to ensure the system's vision, goals and strategies are implemented. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system and effectively supervises and monitors others in the care, maintenance, and use of tools, equipment, and inventory. Uses effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Terms of Employment :
Twelve-month position in accordance with the Board's salary schedule.
