Mailroom Clerk Strativia United States, York, York May 15, 2026
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Mailroom Clerk to support our client's day-to-day mail operations, supply management, and general office logistics. This role is responsible for accurately handling incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining mailroom equipment and supplies, and ensuring timely and secure delivery of sensitive materials. The Mailroom Clerk will also assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the office.
Responsibilities:
Pick up, sort, and distribute incoming mail and hand deliveries received through the building's mail drop center. Distribute mail delivered to the mailroom multiple times daily, sorting by name, floor, room number, and division. Review and route general mail from private citizens and organizations, using knowledge of technical terminology to ensure proper delivery. Pick up and process outgoing mail, including preparing envelopes, postage labels, certified mail, and return receipts. Inspect outgoing mail for accuracy, signatures, enclosures, and compliance with class-of-delivery requirements. Package and apply postage to large document shipments, maintaining address accuracy and tracking as needed. Operate and maintain photocopying machines, ensuring adequate supplies. Prepare and return used toner cartridges with proper vendor labeling. Research and resolve issues such as lost or misrouted mail, working with couriers to resolve discrepancies. Manage the supply room, including inventory control, restocking, and distributing supplies to staff. Assist with event logistics by setting up hearing rooms and conference areas in requested configurations and returning them to their usual setup afterward. Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience. Professional appearance with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, managers, attorneys, investigators, delivery personnel, and, occasionally, the public. Basic typing skills to prepare mailing labels and U.S. postal forms. General knowledge of photocopying equipment, including toner replacement, staple refills, and clearing simple jams. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy items such as boxes, bags, and packages. Ability to push and maneuver heavy mail carts. Work performed primarily in a standard mailroom setting. Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision. Strativia understands that our staff is our number one asset.
